10 days with F Hotel
It's been more than a week since I started work at F. Well, overall, things are ok, i guess. People are ok and patient with me as a greenhorn. I even tot the job scope is pretty ok, cos it's not very deskbound and deals with people from all over the world. But it's been really tiring. Maybe cos I've slacked for too long, or it could be the 6 days week and shift work, that leaves me drained with little energy to do much else. So basically, the job is still 'under probation' with me.PROS:
- Relatively interesting job. Not too deskbound or monotonous (or it could be because I'm still new to everything). Can learn more about Singapore when answering tourists' enquiries, too.
- Colleagues are nice, patient and easy to get along with, so far.
- Lots of chance to use Japanese and, maybe in the future, even Korean...hee
- Meals provided at canteen, some allowance for the hotel restaurants, or just grab the free food left over from breakfast and cocktail hours.
- Shift work means more flexibility with my time?
- Need to bun hair and make up = more time preparing for work. Had a hard stressful time with my hair, esp in the first few days.
- 6 days week = only 1 day off per week. Not quite enough for me. 6 days week also means longer working hours plus the prep time needed. On top of that, plus possible OT in the future.
- Shift work also means irregular working times. Quite tiring.
- Expected to work on weekends, depending on roster.
- Expected to answer or return call even when you're off.
- Not exactly satisfied with the pay.
So, considering...
